Oct 2nd: Congratulations to the country singer Crystal Gayle, who will receive a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Friday, October 2, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. at 1515 Vine Street, near Sunset.
Oct 2nd – Oct 18th: ‘Thiller-Eyegore Awards’ at Universal Studios Hollywood to be Hosted by Actor Corey Feldman as Theme Park Celebrates Opening Night of ‘Halloween Horror nights.’ The Chiller-Eyegore Awards will be on Oct 2nd, 7pm, and honor individuals for their achievements in horror.

A fundraising event for AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA) and other AIDS service organizations across LA County, the AIDS Walk begins at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood with over 25,000 people walking 6.2 miles to raise money for this very important cause. Founded by four friends in 1982, APLA is a community-based, volunteer-supported organization with local, national and global reach. Visit for more information.

Anybody can do Stand-up comedy!

If your friends are always telling you how funny you are and you’ve been thinking about trying stand-up comedy but don’t know where to start, you won’t want to miss this FREE workshop on Saturday, October 24th being offered by Comix and the Manhattan Comedy School.

Speakers include: J.R. Havlan – 5 Time Emmy award-winning writer for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart; Performer on The Late Show with David Letterman. Chuck Nice, VH-1 Best Week Ever, WE TV Cinematherapy, Fox, The Morning Show with Mike & Juliet, MSNBC Morning Joe & Dan Abrams. Seinfeld and Cheers writer Tom Leopold, and national headliner Cory Kahaney who has had her own ½ hour specials on both Comedy Central and HBO.

The largest Halloween street party in the world happens in West Hollywood, located in the Los Angeles County Region. The 21st Annual West Hollywood Halloween Costume Carnaval is scheduled for October 31, 2009. Each year, more than 500,000 people take to the streets of Santa Monica Boulevard to enjoy the craziest, most eccentric costume creations ever. The big draws of the evening are the Halloween Costume Contest and crowning of an Honorary “Queen of the Carnaval.” Visitors can also expect fantastic live entertainment, food vendors, pumpkin-carving contests and children’s activities throughout the week previous. Admission is free and the event starts at 6 PM and runs untilmidnight.

Oct 31st: “Ferrari & Friends” perform at the Marina City Club in Marina del Rey, California. Costume contest with nice prizes. A few seats left. Contact for information.
