Advice column of Back Stage National Edition, April 16th – 22nd, there’s a helpful article called “What is the appropriate makeup for an audition?” reported by Jessica Dewey. One of the responses was by Brett Freeman owner-creator of Vanity Mark Cosmetics in Los Angeles, who gives some great makeup advice for men.
Daily Variety, April 20th, “TiVo launching ratings service,” by Michael Schneider, we learn that: “TiVo is treading further into Nielsen territory, launching a local TV ratings service this summer,” called “Stop Watch Local Markets.”
The Hollywood Reporter, April 20th, “Agency affair heats up,” by Gregg Kilday. Will there be an official of the talent agencies Endeavor and WMA?
In the V Plus section of Daily Variety, April 21st: Music For Screens: Spring ’09,” in which there are several interesting articles. including, “Video Games: No longer regulated to blips and beeps, vidgames reward top talent with creative latitude,” by John Burlingame, who writes: “The next generation of bigscreen composers may just emerge from the videogame field.”
The Hollywood Reporter, April 21st, “34 SAG staffers will get pink slips,” by Jay A. Fernandez. That’s a lot: 8% of the Screen Actors Guild staff.
