Thursday, July 2, 2009, at 7:30 PM, there will be a July 4th Fireworks Spectacular at the Hollywood Bow with special guest John Fogerty

July 3rd is the deadline for entries for The AFTRA’s American Scene Awards, a national competition that recognizes excellence in the employment and portrayal of women, ethnic minorities, seniors, people with disabilities in a positive, balanced, and realistic manner.

4th of July!!!! Independence Day!! Hurray!

July 8th & 9th is the 3rd annual LATV Fest by NATPE, which, as you know, is the National Association of Television Program Executives. The LATV Fest is a two day conference that offers sessions, workshops, panel discussions and other opportunities for attendees to better prepare for careers in the content business. It takes place at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles.

Wednesdays, July 8th and 15th in New York, the Writers Guild Foundation has a 2 session On-Camera Law & Order Classes with head casting director Kimberly Hope. As with all of the events, following the link on the text of this Actors Reporter page.

July 11th: All Sports Los Angeles Film Fest will be held at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood. This All Sports Los Angeles Film Fest promotes the art of screenwriting and filmmaking in the world of sports and competition.

Monday, July 13th is the first day for submissions for the 2009 Screen Actors Guild Awards.
July 16th: 61st Primetime Emmy Awards Nominations are read at 5:30pm PT.

July 23 – July 30 is the 13th Annual LA Shorts Fest. This is the largest short film festival in the world. And, it will take place at the  Laemmle Sunset 5 Theaters, in Los Angeles.

Saturday, July 25th, The Writers Guild Foundation will present, WRITING FOR TELEVISION –an  All day TV writing workshop

Saturday, July 25, 10am-6pm at the WGAW
This event is sponsored by Write Brothers, Inc. The mission of the Writers Guild Foundation is to serve the community of writers and for writers to serve the community. Through their events, outreach programs, library and archive they strive to educate and inspire writers as well as to promote and preserve excellence in writing. The WGAW is located at 7000 W.
