Rain Room


Through 1 March 2016 – The Rain Room at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. LACMA is no stranger to popular, headline-grabbing exhibitions, but the Miracle Mile museum is entering a new territory of “Mona Lisa”-like mania with the arrival of “Rain Room.” The wet wonder from art collective Random International is quite literally a massive room filled with water raining from the ceiling—the twist being you stay dry while the room downpours around you. 9th January – NELAart based in Highland Park and consists of galleries and art organizations located in Northeast Los Angeles who are dedicated to increase the visibility of the thriving arts community in the area. The Highland Park and Eagle Rock districts of northeast of Los Angeles feature clusters of art galleries that collectively keep their doors open late during the second Saturday of each month. 14th January – This self-guided tour, which started in 2004 and has flourished as much of Downtown has cleaned up, encompasses more than 40 galleries and museums spread throughout the area’s many sub-districts, including Bunker Hill, Little Tokyo and Gallery Row on Main and Spring Streets in the Historic Core. 17th January – The 21st Annual Critics’ Choice Awards A+E Networks, home of “The Critics’ Choice Television Awards” and “The Critics’ Choice Movie Awards” for the past year, will combine the two shows into one star-studded three-hour event hosted by actor, comedian and Critics’ Choice Award winner T.J. 23rd January – Producers Guild Awards. The Producers Guild vetting process determines which producers are eligible to use the Producers Mark “p.g.a.” next to their names in the onscreen credits and advertisements for a particular motion picture. The vetting process also determines which individuals are eligible for producing honors in film and television, including those presented at the Producers Guild Awards, the Oscars, the Golden Globes, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, and the Monte Carlo Television Festival.
