Exclusive Interview with Actor Donny Boaz
Published: Thursday, November 7th, 2013
Donny Boaz grew up in Waxahachie, Texas, a small town south of Dallas. He never had any aspirations to be in the entertainment business as his whole life was sports. While playing football in college Donny was also a personal trainer. One of his clients rewarded him by taking Donny to a modeling agency. Overnight, his life changed. Between the ages of 19 and 25, Donny was modeling for the likes of Abercrombie and Neiman Marcus and he walked runways in London, Milan, Paris, Sydney, L.A. and New York, and has graced the cover of GQ Japan.
When Donny was 23, he moved back to Dallas from Paris and went into the Kim Dawson Agency and, to his surprise, the acting agent at Kim Dawson asked him if I had ever done any acting. Donny explained that he played a robot in school in 6th grade. So, the agent wanted him to go tryout so Donny went to his first audition and booked it; a role in the film “Saving Jessica Lynch.” Jessica Lynch was an 18 year old POW in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Donny played the role of PFC Patrick Miller. Donny loved the training he received for that film and in that job, fell in love with acting and hasn’t stopped acting since.
Donny Boaz was scene in soaps including “All My Children” and “Guiding Light” and from these roles he was voted in the Top 25 Sexiest Men in America 2004. Donny has now booked over 70 projects, in film, television and commercials. Some of his projects include the feature film “Out Of The Darkness” in which he played the angel Gabriel, the Lifetime movie, “Anna Nicole,” in which he portrayed Larry Birkhead, and the USA Network show “Graceland,” in which he played Vance.
Donny currently has over a dozen films still filming or in post-production. Locals call him the next charmer to come out of Texas.
