September 28th – October 14th – The 50th New York Film Festival. This year’s NYFF will offer more opportunities to see more films & filmmakers than ever before. Film Society Members & Patrons can get discounted tickets in advance plus other benefits!


October 9th-18th – Polish Film Festival Los Angeles. Presentation of films made by Polish filmmakers with English subtitles. There will also be opportunities to meet with the filmmakers and actors.
October 4th – November 16th The Beat Goes On! A Celebration of The Young at Heart. Theatre of Arts – Arena Stage in Hollywood!

ROCKIN’ WITH THE AGES & THE PINK LADY present the World Premiere production of THE BEAT GOES ON! A Musical Celebration of the Young at Heart, featuring musical direction by David O, and written, choreographed and directed by Ovation Award-winner Cate Caplin. THE BEAT GOES ON!



October 11-14th – The Other Venice Film Festival (OVFF). A competition for features, shorts and docs, experimental films and music videos, youth, political and women director films. The festival includes an filmmaker discussions, art and architecture installations, DJs and Bands.


October 11th-14th – La Femme International Film Festival. LA Femme International Film Festival focuses on platforming women filmmakers creating a festival that showcases and celebrates commercially viable films written, directed, or produced by women.


October 12th-14th – BelAir Film Festival. A festival of independent and international films at the UCLA Film School James Bridges Theater.


October 12th-21st – Screamfest LA. A film festival devoted to the best in horror and sci-fi movies. It focuses primarily on independent films. Grauman’s/Mann’s Chinese 6, Hollywood & Highland, Hollywood.


October 12th – 15th: Bel-Air Film Festival – The Bel-Air Film Festival is an independent international film festival recognized for celebrating cinema in one of Southern California’s most prestigious and storied communities. October 18th-22nd – Hollywood Film Festival. A week-long international film festival with a star-studded awards ceremony in Hollywood at ArcLight Cinemas.


October 16th – PSOS Eco Chic Fashion Show
Hosted by Project Save Our Surf founder Tanna Fredrick and David O’Donnell, with an introduction by Daryl Hannah!
This event occurs during LA Fashion Week 2012.
