Welcome to the TradeVine. This week I’d like to share these trade articles with you:

Back Stage, February 10th-16th, There is an article called, “Finding the right dance class,” by Lisa Jo Sagolla about what to consider when deciding which New York classes are most suitable for you. Daily dance classes are a fundamental part of the life of any serious dancer and are mandatory even for working professionals. With the abundance, high quality, and diversity of its offerings, New York City is perhaps the best place in the world to take dance classes. But how do you choose? First, decide what your career goal is. Second, do some old-fashioned legwork to find out which classes, schedules, costs, and instructors best suit what your career goals are. And lastly, and this is a little note from Actors Reporter, our host, Yi Tian, goes to dance classes all the time in Los Angeles and just got accidentally hit in the face with an elbow. So, number three, be careful.

Hollywood Reporter, February 18th, “The making of Justin Bieber,” by Shirley Halperin. From YouTube street performer to sudden big-screen star, this article shows the inside story of how Antonio “L.A.” Reid and Usher cultivated the hottest heartthrob in America. How do you define overnight success? It is moving 10 million albums worldwide over 14 months, inspiring more than 100 products, opening your first movie on 3000-plus screens with box-office earnings that could top $20 million, and amassing 7 million Twitter followers in two years. Oh yes, and nabbing two Grammy nominations. That’s Justin Bieber who is only 16 years old. Fascinating story not to be missed.

Daily Variety, Tuesday, February 15, “Crescendo. Grammys hit 11-year high,” by Rick Kissell. Talking about Justin Bieber, it was a performance by Justin Bieber and Usher that helped pump the ratings for Sunday’s Grammy Awards on CBS. Of course, performances by Lady GaGa and Katy Perry, helped push up the ratings as well as rare performances by veterans Mick Jagger and Barbara Streisand. Wow. The article notes that social media also is likely benefiting annual specials like the Grammys, and the upcoming Academy Awards.
