“Screen Actors Guild Awards: Nominations Process Begins”

The 16th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards nominating season has begun. The SAG Awards Nominating Committees were chosen by random sample drawing on April 22 and the members selected have been notified. Submissions for the 16th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards nominations open Monday, July 13, and continue until 5 p.m. (PST), Wednesday, Oct. 28th. With the actor’s permission, producers, studios/networks, agents, managers, or publicists may submit a performance from 2009 for consideration in a category of the actor’s choosing. Actors also may submit their own performances. Submissions will be accepted online at sagawards.org, or submission forms can be obtained by calling the Screen Actors Guild Awards office at (323) 549-6707. Nominations for the 16th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will be announced on Thursday, Dec.17, 2009, in Los Angeles.

The SAG Awards has established an e-mail database for members who wish to be contacted should seats for nominating committee screenings become available. Most of these screenings are in Los Angeles and New York and occasionally in other major metropolitan areas. Please know that these offerings can happen very last-minuet and RSVPs will be on a first-come, first-served basis. SAG Nominating Committee members will receive first priority. If you are interested in receiving e-mail invitations to these film screenings, please go to sagawardsRSVP.org and register.

The 16th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will be simulcast on TNT and TBS on Saturday, January 23, 2010.
