Congratulations Al Thompson for receiving The People’s Choice Award for best pilot at the fifth annual New York Television Festival for “Johnny B. Homeless,” a Web comedy with Kenan Thompson (”Saturday Night Live”). Homeless is about a professional couch surfer.
In addition, the 4th Annual Independent Television Festival at Laemille’s Sunset 5 showed off several innovative webseries, including Johnny b. homeless. Created by Al Thompson, Johnny b. is a professional couch surfer. Though not really homeless, he stays away from home constantly to give his girlfriend some space. While doing this, Johnny has the uncanny and sometimes unintentional ability to help those he comes in contact with and whose couch he crashes on. A clever combination of footage and animation.
