Back Stage, National Edition, November 12th-18th, 2009, In the Advice section, Asking a Teacher reported by Alexis Brown, “How can you use improvisation in preparing for a role?” Tom Ardavany, Los Angeles says, “Acting in film is about creating and shaping moments for the camera. One cannot create and shape moments without freedom …. and, Improvisation is the art of finding your freedom within a moment.” Glenn Kalison, New York, suggests actors ask what’s relevant for their characters biographies, “Anything that will motivate characters and give them drive in pursuit of their goals is relevant. Ideas can be found in these kinds of improvised rehearsals.”

The Hollywood Reporter, International Weekend Edition, November 13th-15th, 2009, “A First: Ferguson tops Fallon,” by James Hibberd. Last week, CBS’ “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” beat NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” in the adults 18-49 demographic for the first time. I, Danika Quinn, happened to be on Craig Ferguson a week or so ago, not that my appearance is what pushed the numbers over the top, but please check me out by going to Google and searching Craig Ferguson plus Danika Quinn and enjoy my crazy moment on “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.”

The Hollywood Reporter, November 16th, 2009, “Desperate Measures … Eva Longoria Parker, The Hollywood Reporter’s Philanthropist of the Year, will do whatever it takes to help those less fortunate,” by Mary Murphy. It’s always important to give back and probably even more important to recognize those that do. Congratulations Eva Longoria Parker and thanks for your generosity to help those less fortunate.

Daily Variety, November 17th, 2009, In their V-Plus section they have several articles about music in film. One of the more interesting ones is entitled, “Have A Cool Yule … Artists ranging form Dylan to Bocelli jump into holiday album fray,” by Melinda Newman. Every Christmas Santa’s sleigh brings a stocking full of new holiday albums from artists big and small. This year we can look for a wide range of artists including Andrea Bocelli, Bob Dylan, and David Archuleta, the American Idol runner up. Speaking of American Idol, the first album of Allison Iraheta, who is the song performance student of our producers, Pepper Jay and John Michael Ferrari, will be released Dec. 1st. The album is called “Just Like You.” You can preorder the album by going to www.AllisonIraheta.com. We ordered ours, have you?
